A lot of people have asked me why I chose the name New Freedom Hill to represent my business. Where did it come from? What does it mean? Why THAT name?
New Freedom Hill represents where I come from...
...And where I hope to end up.
I was born and raised in the town of Princeville, NC. The oldest town incorporated by African Americans in the United States (1885). When the freed slaves inhabited the land--now known as Princeville-- it was established as Freedom Hill.
It symbolized hope for a better life, a thriving community, and a chance to finally experience FREEDOM.
Knowing the history of my hometown always made me feel special about being from there. It made me believe that anything was possible. I think of how proud my ancestors must have been, and what type of vision they may have imagined. I think of the growth they must have expected to see, and I feel compelled to help renew the spirit of Freedom Hill in everything around me.
The spirit of determination.
The spirit of strength.
The spirit of unity.
The spirit of raising standards.
The expectation of a flourishing community.
I see the resemblance of Freedom Hill in every business and organization seeking to grow and serve in areas that are struggling to thrive.
So, with this renewed spirit of Freedom Hill, we have created NEW Freedom Hill. It is a place that exists within the hearts of everyone hoping to better their community in any way--whether it be through providing services to others or through becoming leaders of positive change.
